4.3. Air conditioning system

Prevention

The air conditioning system is under the high pressure therefore it is impossible to weaken any connections in air conditioning system, pressure is not taken off yet. A source of the increased danger at improper maintenance of system by unprepared technicians and when using the inadequate equipment is the high pressure and chemical influence of coolant.


For effective operation of the air conditioning system it is necessary to perform the following operations constantly:

 – to check and, if necessary, to regulate a tension of a driving compressor belt of the conditioner,
 – to constantly check a condition of hoses,
 – using cold water or compressed air, to constantly clear condenser plates,
 – to support the exact level of coolant in the air conditioning system.

The air conditioning system has to work at least 10 minutes at least, once a month.

Air conditioning system has to be served by exclusively prepared technicians trained in safe working methods with use of the appropriate equipment, with observance of rules of depressurization, acquainted with methods of collecting and order of storage of automobile coolant.

Do not allow contact of coolant with skin.

During the work near air conditioning system put on goggles.

At hit of coolant on skin or eyes do not pound the struck place. Immediately wash out cold water within not less than 15 minutes. Immediately see a doctor or medical institution. Self-treatment is not allowed.

Coolant is in a new cylinder under pressure. You store at a temperature not above 50 °C. Take the measures excluding falling of a cylinder about heights or other situations which can lead to its damage.

Works should be carried out in well ventilated room. Coolant quickly evaporates, leads to reduction of access of oxygen and to the complicated breath.

Gaseous coolant is heavier than air and rather quickly has to gather from below, for example, under the car.

At combustion of coolant poisonous gas is formed. You store coolant far from open sources of fire. You do not smoke. When using ardent techeiskatel avoid smoke inhalation.

When carrying out welding works near air conditioning system always delete from it coolant. Electric welding near pipelines with coolant can cause decomposition of coolant under the influence of ultra-violet radiation.

Do not subject air conditioning system detail to influence of high temperature or an open flame. The overheat can lead to increase in pressure in system and to ignition.
