7.6.3. Check of a corner of an advancing of ignition

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

The corner of an advancing of ignition is established by the electronic block (ECM) and is not regulated manually.

Tools and devices necessary for check and installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition

1 – Vacuum cap. Vacuum hoses have to be in most cases disconnected and closed by caps.

2 – A stroboscope with the inductive sensor. Gives bright flashes of light at the time of giving of high voltage on a candle of the first cylinder.

3 – A key for the distributor.

Use of a stroboscope for definition of a corner of an advancing of ignition

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At the switched-off ignition connect a stroboscope according to its maintenance instruction.
2. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature.
3. Direct a stroboscope beam to an adjusting tag on a pulley of a bent shaft. The tag on a pulley of a bent shaft has to be combined with figure on the index which defines an ignition advancing corner.
4. If the tag on a pulley of a bent shaft is not combined with the required tag on the index, perhaps, the system of ignition works with failures and it is necessary to define malfunction at service station with use of the diagnostic equipment.
5. Switch off the engine and remove a stroboscope.
